NARUC CPI identifies ongoing and emerging challenges and connects state commissions with expertise and strategies to navigate their complex decision-making. This work includes support for commissions to convene with other key energy decision makers, receive direct assistance through federally funded programs, explore new topics as they arise via facilitated regulator roundtables and quarterly commission staff peer sharing calls, and access recruitment resources to assist with hiring new staff and retaining experts within commissions.
The National Council on Electricity Policy (NCEP) is a platform for all state-level electricity decision-makers to share and learn from diverse perspectives on the evolving electricity sector. The NCEP community includes representatives from state public utility commissions, air and environmental regulatory agencies, governors’ staffs, energy offices, legislatures, and consumer advocates. NARUC convenes members and experts, develops resources, and delivers training for Commissioners and commission staff across the country on a wide variety of topics relevant to utility regulation. In complement to NARUC’s member-led committee activities, NARUC CPI staff periodically provide a forum for members to convene in facilitated dialogue through Regulators Roundtables and Commission Staff Surge Calls.
