The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) are creating unprecedented opportunities for states to rapidly advance clean energy and bring its benefits to the residents of their state. But the federal funding opportunities resulting from these laws can be complicated and difficult to implement. The Summit will provide state and federal officials with practical information related to IRA/BIL funding programs and the challenges that are confronting states. It will be discussion-heavy so that attendees can learn from each other about their plans, programs, and lessons learned.

  • Engage with state officials working on IRA/BIL implementation across the country
  • Hear from and interact with federal officials who are administering federal energy initiatives
  • Explore opportunities for state implementation of IRA/BIL initiatives
  • Learn about innovative state-level clean energy programs
  • Understand the technical support available from federal agencies, national laboratories, and nonprofits to deploy IRA/BIL programs.

Hotel Reservations: CESA has a hotel room block at the Kellogg Conference Hotel at the rate of $219 per night plus tax. Attendees are responsible for making their own hotel reservations. The room block will close Friday, March 22, or sooner if all available rooms are reserved. You can cancel your reservation up to 48 hours prior to your date of arrival. You will receive a link to make a hotel reservation in the room block after you register for the Summit.

Travel assistance: Travel support is available for one delegate from each state, but multiple participants are encouraged to attend from a state. The delegate will receive reimbursement for two nights’ room at the conference hotel, plus travel expenses (up to $450 for individuals within 750 miles of DC, or up to $650 for individuals coming from further away).

Organizers: The Summit is being organized by the Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO), and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Policy.
