The National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO), in partnership with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), and the U.S. Joint Office of Energy and Transportation, will host an Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure National Conference for state leaders on electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure deployment. The conference will be held at Huntington Place Detroit Convention Center (1 Washington Boulevard Detroit, MI 48226).

This meeting will convene officials from state and federal agencies including State Energy Offices, State Departments of Transportation, State Environmental Agencies, and other federal partners to share progress and updates on Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) EV infrastructure programs; hear the latest guidance and updates from the U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Department of Energy, and other federal partners; and explore solutions for national EV infrastructure deployment.

The meeting will feature discussions on lessons learned on state NEVI deployment, including:

  • an update on operational NEVI sites;
  • how states can deploy NEVI funds once “Fully Built Out” status is achieved and coordinate with CFI awards;
  • how to plan for off-corridor community charging that is equitable and reliable;
  • how states are working with utilities to support EV-grid integration at NEVI and other EV charging sites; and
  • other emerging issues to support the buildout of a national EV charging network.
