Join NCEP for its 2023 Annual Meeting focused on collaborative approaches to addressing immediate and long-term electricity affordability issues, Sept 27-28. On Sept. 26-27, attend an optional EV charging site visit and pre-workshop on achieving value for customers in the electrified transportation transition. Open to anyone interested! Details below:
The electricity system is experiencing unprecedented change. Customers will have a substantial role in participating with, influencing, and paying for this change. Just how much customers will pay remains a concern, especially for those customers who struggle the most to pay energy bills. With the increasing costs of vehicle and building electrification, efforts to integrate renewable energy on the distribution and transmission systems, and other investments to improve the functioning and reliability of the electric grid in the face of a clean energy transition, all while striving to reach a more equitable and just electricity system, energy affordability has become a priority shared between electricity decision-makers on the federal, state, and local level. Join the National Council on Electricity Policy (NCEP) for its 2023 Annual Meeting, where NCEP will identify tools and explore collaborative approaches to address immediate term and long-term affordability issues.
Transportation electrification has long-term benefits for the environment, the economy, and for customers. Achieving these long-term goals requires planning, coordination, and collaboration across a wide array of stakeholders and decision makers who must balance the long-term benefits and cost savings with near-term investment needs, a changing technological landscape, and high uncertainty. The morning workshop will explore how decision makers and stakeholders can work together despite uncertainty to maintain affordability and achieve value for customers as the nation transitions to an electrified transportation future. Note: This workshop includes an optional site visit the afternoon of September 26, 2023.
